Emergency in Lebanon: Our mobile clinic is at a standstill!

Bad news from our mobile clinic in Lebanon: the engine is broken. And this at a time when winter is just around the corner and people are in dire need of help.

Winters in the Bekaa Valley are harsh. Temperatures drop below freezing at night; the tent walls in the camps are thin; heating oil is expensive. Colds, pneumonia, and viral outbreaks are a bitter reality. Medical care is unaffordable for most people.

That is why we have been providing medical care to refugees and Lebanese families who would otherwise have no access to medical treatment with our mobile clinic for the past three years. We were able to treat over 9,000 patients last year – from children with fever to expectant mothers. For many, our clinic was their only hope.

But now everything has come to a standstill. The engine is broken; the mobile clinic is paralyzed.

In order for urgently needed medical assistance to continue, we need to repair the engine – at a cost of 3000 Swiss francs.

Every donation counts right now

With your support, we can get the clinic up and running again—and help save lives. Because the longer the shutdown lasts, the more people will be left without medical care.

«The situation is becoming more precarious with each passing week,» says Vanja, our managing director. «Following cuts in government aid, diseases are spreading more quickly. Children are particularly at risk.»

In addition to engine repairs, we also urgently need medication for fever and infections—paracetamol, ibuprofen, and antibiotics. Any donations exceeding the repair costs will go directly toward purchasing these essential medicines.

Help us ensure that our clinic can soon reach the people who need it so urgently.

You can find the appeal for donations from Vanja, our managing director, here (in German):
