Samir Shalabi experienced the bombing of Belgrade as a child. As a teenager, he found a new home in Damascus – until war caught up with him again.

Between Wars accompanies Samir on his moving return to Syria. The documentary takes him to the places of his childhood and youth – some make him smile, others awaken memories he had long suppressed. On a park bench in Damascus, a whole life unfolds – between two wars.
