Cookies
Cookies are data elements that a website can send to your browser to better support you in database-driven systems. However, you have the option to configure your browser to notify you when you receive a cookie. This allows you to decide whether to accept it or not.
Google Analytics
This website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google Inc. ("Google"). Google Analytics uses "cookies," which are text files placed on your computer, to help the website analyze how users use the site. The information generated by the cookie about your use of the website will generally be transmitted to and stored by Google on servers in the United States.
If IP anonymization is activated on this website, your IP address will be shortened by Google within member states of the European Union or in other contracting states of the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and shortened there. IP anonymization is active on this website. On behalf of the operator of this website, Google will use this information to evaluate your use of the website, to compile reports on website activity, and to provide other services relating to website activity and internet usage to the website operator.
The IP address transmitted by your browser as part of Google Analytics will not be merged with other Google data. You can prevent the storage of cookies by adjusting your browser settings; however, please note that in this case you may not be able to fully utilize all the functions of this website. Newsletter
We only send newsletters, emails, and other electronic notifications containing promotional information (hereinafter "newsletters") with the recipient's consent or where legally permitted. If the content of the newsletter is specifically described during the registration process, this description is decisive for the user's consent.
To subscribe to the newsletter, simply provide your email address, first name, and last name. This information is used solely for personalizing the newsletter.
Registration for our newsletter uses a double opt-in process. This means that after registering, you will receive an email asking you to confirm your subscription. This confirmation is necessary to prevent anyone from subscribing using someone else's email address.
Newsletter subscriptions are logged to document the registration process in accordance with legal requirements. This includes storing the registration and confirmation times, as well as the IP address. Changes to your data stored with MailChimp are also logged.
Use of the email marketing service Mailchimp
The newsletters are sent via “MailChimp”, a newsletter distribution platform of the US provider Rocket Science Group, LLC, 675 Ponce De Leon Ave NE #5000, Atlanta, GA 30308, USA.
The email addresses of our newsletter recipients, as well as their other data described in this notice, are stored on MailChimp's servers in the USA. MailChimp uses this information to send and analyze the newsletters on our behalf. Furthermore, according to its own information, MailChimp may use this data to optimize or improve its own services, for example, for the technical optimization of newsletter delivery and display, or for business purposes, such as determining the countries of origin of the recipients. However, MailChimp does not use the data of our newsletter recipients to contact them directly or to share it with third parties.
We trust in MailChimp's reliability and its IT and data security. MailChimp is certified under the EU-US Privacy Shield Framework and is therefore committed to complying with EU data protection regulations. Furthermore, we have entered into a Data Processing Agreement with MailChimp. This agreement obligates MailChimp to protect our users' data, to process it on our behalf in accordance with its privacy policy, and, in particular, not to disclose it to third parties. You can view MailChimp's privacy policy here .
Newsletter - Statistical surveys and analyses
The newsletters contain a so-called “web beacon,” i.e., a pixel-sized file that is retrieved from the MailChimp server when the newsletter is opened. During this retrieval, technical information such as information about your browser and your system, as well as your IP address and the time of retrieval, is initially collected. This information is used for technical improvement of the services based on the technical data or the target groups and their reading behavior based on their retrieval locations (which can be determined using the IP address) or access times.
The statistical surveys also include determining whether the newsletters are opened, when they are opened, and which links are clicked. For technical reasons, this information can be assigned to individual newsletter recipients. However, it is neither our intention nor that of MailChimp to monitor individual users. The evaluations serve us much more to recognize the reading habits of our users and to adapt our content to them or to send different content according to the interests of our users.
In this context, we would like to point out that cookies are used on MailChimp's websites and that personal data is therefore processed by MailChimp, its partners, and service providers (e.g., Google Analytics). We have no influence on this data collection. Further information can be found in MailChimp's privacy policy. We would also like to point out the options for objecting to data collection for advertising purposes on the websites http://www.aboutads.info/choices/ (for the European area).
